Testing Twitter

Hi folks, right now I'm just testing a few things, primarily testing my little CMS's ability to post a link to a new post directly to Twitter. Hope it works.

Beginnings

I've started working on this site more in earnest now. That comes with a renewed desire to no longer put aside some of the things that I've wanted to do for a while now. More work will be done, I promise. It's been a little bit rocky for me building most of this from scratch using a nearly completely new language (PHP) and a somewhat foreign database (MySQL). I'm much more used to C#/ASP.NET and MS SQL, so something new isn't entirely a bad thing. Right?

I re-started watching the Stanford CS193P iOS Development lectures again today. I've only made it a few lectures in on previous attempts before my attention had been diverted. I don't really recall if it was just my mind wandering as it seems want to do on occasion or if I became stuck in the material. Lecture 1 is relatively easy to get through as is the first day of any class or course. The introductory phase is over however and I know that the meat of the course will be coming up.

I've also started working through Zed A. Shaw's Learn Python the Hard Way. I'll be doing at least one exercise each day until I've made my way through the entire book. The first exercise is fairly basic and straightforward for anyone who has done any programming before.

Tomorrow will mark the start of my attempt to become certified on Microsoft Exchange 2010. I'm not only a web developer in my day job, but also a Windows administrator and one of the primary Exchange administrators for the organization. With the spectre of Exchange 2003's support coming to an end relatively soon it seems prudent to take the time to learn the new version and there seemed to be no real reason to do it in any fashion other than working towards the certification.

It's a lot to put on a plate, especially between now and the end of the year, but I feel equal to the task. It'll just take some concentration and focus and I've always found that once I'm able to get into a rhythm of doing things that it tends to work out for the best. We'll have to see how it goes.
